What you’ll be working on Building and enhancing web applications, APIs, and backend systems using Laravel (PHP 8) and MySQL Developing Python microservices to power intelligent automation and agent-based workflows Embedding AI and LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into real-world systems, not just prompt/response, but multi-step logic and decision-making Working with tools like LangChain, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex to develop internal AI agents Designing secure, scalable systems that handle complex financial and operational data Collaborating with an experienced in-house AI Engineer and the wider tech team What we’re looking for Solid commercial experience with Laravel, PHP 8, and MySQL Strong Python skills (FastAPI, Flask, or similar) Hands-on experience integrating AI or LLM-based workflows into applications Confidence working across PHP + Python boundaries Understanding of web security, API integrations, and cloud-based architecture Excited by automation, innovation, and building smarter systems that make a difference Nice to have Experience with Vue.js, Laravel Livewire, or AWS Background in fintech, data automation, or business intelligence Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) or RAG pipelines Why this role This is a chance to join a tech-driven business where ideas turn into working systems fast. Are you passionate about automation and innovation? We’re looking for an Automation Developer to join our team and help transform the way we work. You’ll be using a mix of RPA platforms and AI tools to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and deliver real business impact. The role is on-site, with some flexible working.  What you’ll be doing: Assess business processes to identify opportunities for automation. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using a range of RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism). Integrate AI capabilities (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure/OpenAI services) to extend automation use cases. Deliver end-to-end solutions, including analysis, design, build, testing, deployment, and support. Ensure automation solutions meet governance, compliance, and security requirements. Work with stakeholders to provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and ongoing support. Monitor and optimise automation performance for scalability and business value. What we’re looking for: Experience with RPA tools and automation development. Familiarity with AI solutions and how they can be embedded in workflows. Strong problem-solving and technical skills (e.g., scripting, integrations, APIs). An eye for process improvement and delivering measurable results. Deliverables: Documented automation requirements and design specifications. Deployed automation workflows and integrations. Technical documentation, support guides, and training materials. Ongoing monitoring and optimisation of live automations. Required Skills & Experience: Hands-on development experience with RPA platforms. Familiarity with AI-based automation tools and their application in business contexts. Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, C#, PowerShell). Strong knowledge of APIs, data integration, and enterprise systems. Experience in process mapping and business analysis. Understanding of automation governance and best practices.
